The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the guidelines and requirements for the 2025/2026 Direct Entry (DE) registration. This release offers candidates all the essential information needed to successfully complete their applications. The board highlighted the need for candidates to adhere closely to the specified procedures to facilitate a seamless registration experience.
In a recent announcement from JAMB, the examination authority cautioned against fraudulent practices, encouraging candidates to meticulously adhere to the registration process and steer clear of unapproved agents. The board also emphasized that all Direct Entry applicants need to have valid A-Level qualifications and fulfill the necessary O’Level criteria.
JAMB has specified the requirements for candidates seeking Direct Entry admission. The board states that only those with Advanced Level (A-Level) qualifications will be eligible. Acceptable qualifications include IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge A-Level, NCE, OND, HND, and other recognized certificates.
Moreover, candidates are required to have at least five O’Level credit passes, which must include English Language and Mathematics, achieved in no more than two sittings. The O’Level results should come from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE. Those who do not meet these standards will not qualify for DE registration.
In addition, JAMB has made it clear that all candidates must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), as this is now a compulsory requirement for registration. The board stressed that no candidate will be registered without a valid NIN, encouraging applicants to complete their NIN enrollment prior to starting the registration process.
JAMB has outlined a clear guide for Direct Entry (DE) candidates to follow during their registration process. It all starts with generating a JAMB profile code by sending their National Identification Number (NIN) via SMS to either 55019 or 66019. After receiving the profile code, candidates can then purchase their JAMB DE E-PIN from authorized banks, CBT centers, or through online payment options.
Once they have the E-PIN, applicants need to head to a JAMB-accredited CBT center to finalize their registration. At the center, candidates will need to provide their personal information, A-Level certificates, O’Level results, and undergo biometric verification. They will also choose their desired universities and courses.
After completing the registration successfully, candidates should print their JAMB Direct Entry registration slip for their records. This slip acts as proof of registration and includes essential information regarding the candidate’s application.
JAMB continues to uphold its registration fee of ?3,500 for Direct Entry applicants. In addition, there are extra charges of #1,500 for the reading text and #700 for the CBT service fee, which totals #5,700.
The board has cautioned candidates to avoid making payments through unapproved vendors, recommending that they only pay at authorized banks, CBT centers, or via JAMB’s official online payment portal.
JAMB has issued a strong warning to candidates and CBT centers about engaging in fraudulent activities. The board emphasized that candidates should not register more than once, as any duplicate registrations will result in automatic disqualification.
Additionally, JAMB has warned against submitting fake A-Level and O’Level results, stating that candidates caught with forged certificates will face disqualification and legal action. The board also cautioned cyber cafes and unaccredited registration centers against conducting JAMB DE registrations, making it clear that only JAMB-approved CBT centers are authorized to manage this process.
Moreover, JAMB reiterated that third-party registration is prohibited, meaning that parents, guardians, or proxies cannot register on behalf of candidates. The board stressed that each candidate must complete their registration personally to prevent errors, alterations, or mismatched information.
Although JAMB hasn't officially set a closing date for the DE registration, it's highly recommended that candidates register as soon as they can to prevent any last-minute issues. The board has emphasized that there will be no extensions to the registration deadline, so it's important for candidates to finish their registration before the specified date.
As the 2025/2026 JAMB Direct Entry registration begins, candidates are encouraged to carefully follow the official guidelines and confirm that they fulfill all necessary requirements before submitting their applications.
JAMB has promised a seamless and efficient registration experience, as long as candidates stick to the correct procedures. The board also emphasizes the importance of using only official sources for information and updates to steer clear of any misleading information from fraudulent operators.
